Stop to smell the flowers! ~**~ Parate a oler las flores!
One of the benefits from being unemployed is that I literally have time to smell the flowers! The spot where I took this photo is in Modoc Street's bike lane. I use this bike route to get to the Foodbank where I volunteer twice a week.

Where I live there used to live also a cute little kitty named Pépe, that used to use my front porch as his exclusive littler box. Pépe was so sweet and cute that I let him get away with murder...My porch though always looked terrible... but it was fun to have him around! Unfortunately, a couple months ago, Pépe and his family moved out and since then my porch has been looking terribly sad!
When I got unemployed I made a list with many projects and goals that I wanted to tackle; bringing my front porch back to life was one of them. Yesterday, I went to a local nursery and I bought many little plants to bring color and happiness to the entrance to my home.
I sort of went nuts and bought a bunch of flowers: yellow Violas, red, pink and white Begonias, red Verbena, Golden Fleece, a cool Adiantum Cuneatum fern, and cala lilies. There are all so cute!
Now, I can't wait to see them grow and perfume my porch in the warm Santa Barbara Summer nights!
