Last night I watched the film Breaking Away (1979) and absolutely felt in love with it!
I loved the vintage road bicycles and the retro Lycra outfits, the love story, the small town characters, papa, the college kids, the local kids, the Italian music, Dave faking being an Italian exchange student and of course Fellini the cat!
This is my favorite quote in the entire movie:
Papa: God-damned see-thru coffee!
Mom: He was very sickly until he started riding around on that bicycle.
Papa: Yeah... well... now his body's fine, but his mind is gone.
Anoche ví la película Breaking Away (1979) y me enamoré de ella!
Me encantaron las bicicletas de carretera de época y los trajes retro de Lycra, la historia de amor, los personajes de la pequeña ciudad, papá, los chicos de la universidad, los chicos del lugar, todas las cosas italianas, Dave fingiendo ser un estudiante de intercambio italiano y, por supuesto el gato Fellini! Esta es mi cita favorita de toda la película:
Papá: maldito café aguado!
Mamá: Estaba muy enfermo, hasta que comenzó a montar esa bicicleta.
Papá: Sí ... bueno ... ahora su cuerpo esta bien, pero su mente se ha ido.
